The deadline to apply for federal relief for losses sustained by Wisconsin businesses, private nonprofits, and residents affected by severe storms this past August is approaching. Damage from straight-line winds, flooding and mudslides occurring August 9-12, 2025 could be covered by a low-interest federal disaster loan, designed to offset losses that resulted. That deadline is June 11.
Eligible counties covered by the SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan program include Dodge, Fond du Lac, Jefferson, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Sheboygan, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha. Loans up to $2 million with interest rates as low as 4% for small businesses and 3.625% for private non-profits may be awarded in terms of up to 30 years.
Application can be made online through sba.gov/disaster, or by phone to the SBA’s Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955. Email is also accepted at disastercustomerservice@sba.
The deadline to return economic injury applications is June 11, however there is a 60-day grace period in which SBA will accept applications.
