A motorcyclist from Manitowoc County was seriously injured in a late Saturday night crash. Manitowoc County deputies were dispatched to the intersection of County Road “J” and Roselawn Road, just south of the Village of Valders around 11:45 PM Saturday. Investigators believe that the 54-year-old Town of Liberty man riding his 2004 Harley Davidson without a helmet failed to stop at the intersection, entered a ditch, struck a sign and field access, ejecting the man and causing possible life-threatening injuries.
The operator was airlifted by ThedaStar helicopter to Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah for treatment.
The Sheriff wants to remind all motorcyclists that proper safety equipment including helmets, eye protection, protective clothing, gloves and proper footwear can significantly reduce the severity of injuries in case of a crash.
