There’s a chance that weather may demand attention later today as a round of thunderstorms is predicted to roll through the state from west to east this evening. Activity is expected to feed upon unusually warm air for this time of year, although near Lake Michigan that warmth may not be as noticeable.
The storms may be harder to ignore, though, as they’ll have enough energy to produce possible gusty winds, some isolated hail and the chance for locally heavy rain. And even after several days of drying, soils are saturated and flooding could result.

NWS Graphic
Currently there’s a potential for between a quarter inch, up to an inch-and-a-quarter falling mostly late tonight through early Friday morning, but rain and possible thunder could linger through much of the day.

NWS Graphic
Right now the weekend looks dry with temperatures close to seasonal normals featuring lows in the 40s and highs limited to the 50s under an onshore wind.
