Anyone with unused medication can take care of proper disposal this weekend when Sheboygan County takes part in the Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday. Healthy Sheboygan County is coordinating with the Wisconsin Department of Justice and the Drug Enforcement Administration to offer the disposal option at four drive-through drop-off locations between 10 AM and 1 PM Saturday. Those will be at Generations at 1500 Douglas Drive in Plymouth; the Random Lake Fire Department on Spring Street; at HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan, and at the Sheboygan Falls Police Department at 375 Buffalo Street. Those attending at St. Nicholas should use the Superior Avenue entrance on the south side of the building.
The collection involves household pharmaceuticals only and is for residents only with no businesses allowed. Both solid and liquid controlled and non-controlled prescriptions are accepted and should be in their original containers with personal information crossed off. Hazardous materials including needles, sharps, illegal drugs and aerosols are excluded from the collection.
