A second area resident has earned the prestigious designation as Master Cheesemaker. Erin Radkte says earning the designation of Master Cheesemaker is deeply personal to her as she grew up close to the Sartori Cheese Plant in Plymouth. Radkte has worked for Sartori since 2004 in various roles within the company, working her way up the ladder.
Officials say the Master Cheesemaker certification process is notoriously demanding, requiring years of coursework, specialization and a comprehensive exam that can take more than 40 hours to complete. Radtke’s mastery focuses on Open-Class Hard and Parmesan cheeses that showcase both technical precision and creative innovation.
