A rare recognition has been awarded to a long-time Sargento employee. Sargento announced on Thursday that Tim Entringer has achieved the status of a Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker in recognition of his decades of craft and dedication. The honor is only the second one awarded in the company’s history. Tim’s achievement was to be recognized today during a ceremony at the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association CheeseExpo in Milwaukee.
Administered by the Center for Dairy Research and the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, the Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker Program is the only one of its kind in the US. Candidates must navigate a rigorous, three-year certification process which requires at least 10 years of licensed cheesemaking experience, demonstrates consistent product excellence and includes the completion of advanced coursework, testing and evaluation. Tim is now one of fewer than 100 Master Cheesemakers in Wisconsin.
