A Tornado Watch has again been issued by the National Weather Service. The latest advisory covers Sheboygan and all surrounding counties, and extends southward to Illinois and westward to Minnesota and Iowa, and will be in effect until 10 PM tonight. The watch is the latest outcome of a series of storms triggered by a lingering frontal boundary that’s served as an incubator for strong storms that produced damaging winds and heavy rain in the past 24-hours.

NWS Graphic
Sheboygan County – along with all of southern Wisconsin – is experiencing an enhanced, 3 in 5 risk, of severe weather, with the greatest threat being long track, strong tornadoes, hail as large as softballs, damaging winds, and more rain that could amplify flooding already occurring on the Sheboygan River.

NWS Graphic
Activity is expected to develop locally between 3 and 6 PM, reach peak intensity between 6 and 10 PM, and end by 1 AM Wednesday. Rainfall that’s already totaled more than 2-1/2 inches in the last two days could be topped by another 1/2 to 1.2 inches.

NWS Graphic
Afterwards, a break is expected but more activity…possibly severe…could also affect much of Wednesday.
