Those in need of a Commercial Drivers’ License can now find the necessary instruction through Lakeshore College. A $24,994 Training Grant to Manitowoc County has been conferred by the State of Wisconsin’s Commercial Driver Training Grant program to provide Class A and B CDL theory and behind-the-wheel training for 12 individuals at half the cost. The funding supports workforce development initiatives by expanding access to high-quality CDL training in the Lakeshore district and helps more residents move into in-demand transportation careers.
The funding comes from a quarter-million dollar investment benefiting nine businesses and organizations in eight Wisconsin counties announced by Governor Evers and the Wisconsin DWD that will help prepare trainees for careers as truck drivers, school bus drivers, delivery drivers and other CDL-required roles.
