Hearings for the two suspects in the shooting death of 19-year-old Joseph Torres of Sheboygan in January had to be delayed last week when there weren’t enough available public defenders to manage their cases.
The preliminary hearing for Onterio Girley is now scheduled for 3:30 PM this coming Wednesday, while Lawrence Buford’s court appearance is scheduled for 3:30 on Wednesday, February 25th. The delays allowed authorities the time needed to locate and assign public defenders to the cases.
