William "Bill" Wangeman
A man who had a far-ranging impact in the Sheboygan area has passed away. William (Bill) Wangemann died at age 90 on January 30th following a brief illness.
A Sheboygan native, Wangemann was a local school graduate, and was a Sheboygan Police Officer for 28 years. During that time he worked as an EMT, police photographer, police artist and crime scene investigator.
Wangemann also served two terms as a City of Sheboygan Alderman, served on many local boards and was recognized as the Historian for the City of Sheboygan. Wangemann is credited as the driving force behind the recovery and display of the ship, the Lottie Cooper at Sheboygan’s lakefront.
By his request there will be no funeral, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
