The public is being warned once again of a spell of dangerously cold weather within a day, while areas well to the south of Sheboygan County are dealing with a lake effect snow event today.
A band of lake effect snow has set up along the shoreline from Cedar Grove on southward, but advisories – lasting until 3 PM today – are no closer than Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha Counties where about 2-4 inches of snow may cause slippery travel to the I-94 corridor, especially on roads to the east of that main artery. Some isolated spots immediately adjacent to the lake may receive more.

NWS Graphic
Attention here in Sheboygan County is centered upon cold air temperatures dropping to about 5 below tonight, and the moderate winds of 10-15 MPH combining to produce wind chill factors of between -20º and -25º between midnight tonight and noon on Monday. The advisory covers all of southern Wisconsin.
Daytime temperatures here aren’t even expected toe exceed 10 above until briefly on Tuesday, with potential double-digit highs more likely by Thursday and Friday. Throughout, wind chill values will likely spend most of that time in the single digits and teens below zero. For what it’s worth, significant snowfall doesn’t appear likely in the coming week.
