As the Sheboygan Area endures the midst of an outbreak of polar air, National Weather Service forecasters have a mixed message. Their expectations of dangerous wind chills have been verified, while an escape – of sorts – is also in the offing.
Wind chills of -30º and -40º are again expected tonight as actual temperatures fall to between 10 and 20 degrees below zero, maintaining the Extreme Cold Warning until 6 AM Saturday, followed by a short Cold Weather Advisory continuing until noon tomorrow.

NWS Graphic
While the most intense of the cold outbreak may be departing in the next 24 hours, taking with it the current warnings and advisories, the trend of cold weather will be more reluctant to leave, with additional cold weather advisories anticipated at times through at least Wednesday.
As for snow, chances are slight for the next week or so, except for the chance that lake effect snow showers could appear along the Lake Michigan shoreline, but mostly from Ozaukee County on to the south.
