Like unwelcome guests at a party, snow and bitter cold are going to overstay their welcome in the Sheboygan Area for some time. As a result, an Extreme Cold Watch is in effect from Thursday night through late Saturday morning.

Snow Covered Roads Dominate the Wisconsin 511 Map This Morning
Up to a half an inch of snow fell overnight, with slippery conditions dominating area roadways early this morning, ending the first round of snow. Round-two is expected this afternoon and evening, with blowing snow potentially extending slick conditions after another inch or so accumulates by midnight.

NWS Graphic
Winds stay brisk tomorrow through Friday, with gusts frequently over 30 miles an hour. Combined with temperatures falling from the teens above zero tomorrow afternoon to lows in the teens below zero by Friday morning, wind chill readings could easily approach 40 below zero through those morning hours.

NWS Graphic
Actual temperatures are forecast to stay below zero until Saturday afternoon, and aren’t expected to again reach the teens above until sometime next week.
