Red Cross Says Blood Supply Drops 35%

What’s being called a “severe shortage” in blood is prompting the American Red Cross to repeat appeals for blood donors to come forward.  Hospital requests now exceed supplies, and with high flu activity in nearly every state, many regular donors are being sidelined, resulting in a 35% drop in supplies, and with pleas for new donors to come forward.

The Red Cross is still offering the chance to win a trip for two to Super Bowl-65 including round-trip airfare, three-night accommodations, a $1,000 gift card plus, of course, the event itself.  The offer applies to donors giving now until January 25, and then all donating between next Monday and February 28th get a $20 gift e-card to a merchant of choice.  Visit RedCrossBlood.org for details, or
