A few rounds of mostly light snow can be expected beginning today as cold air from Canada drives milder air out of Wisconsin, possibly making for some travel concerns by the weekend.
Temperatures remained above freezing overnight until gusty northwest winds drove the mercury downward around 4 AM, accompanied by light snow that forecasters expected would be limited to only a few tenths of an inch, but that could briefly reduce visibility and create a few slick spots.

A more prolonged light snow event is then expected from late Thursday into Saturday evening, with the bulk of accumulation likely between 6 PM tomorrow and 6 AM Friday. Right now, some 2” of snow – maybe more – should be on the ground before it ends, and is followed by genuinely cold, wintery temperatures that linger in the single digits and teens into at least the middle of next week.
