Area motorists should be careful of possible “black ice” developing this morning according to the National Weather Service.
Neither Wisconsin 511 or local sources have reported trouble so far, and temperatures have remained marginally above freezing overnight. However wet ground conditions and any standing water on roads could quickly become frozen and slippery with little visible indication, and so officials say it’s a good idea to slow down, keep your distance between vehicles, and be especially careful on bridges, overpasses, ramps and untreated roads until after sunup.
