An active weather pattern has set up in the Midwest, positioning Wisconsin and the Sheboygan Area for a variety of January weather over the next several days. First up: a rainy Thursday night.
Rainfall in the neighborhood of a half inch is expected between 4 PM today and 11 AM Friday, and a few rumbles of thunder could punctuate events tonight. Temperatures overnight will be far above normal daytime highs for this time of year, expected to possibly brush the 50-degree mark around midnight. With frozen ground conditions, some areas will likely experience ponding and standing water, and there will be a possibility of ice jams forming on area rivers.

NWS Graphic
Friday temperatures will linger in the upper 30s to near 40 most of the day, and any snow that accompanies the end of precipitation Friday morning would be minimal.

NWS Graphic
Saturday brings with it below-freezing temperatures and snowfall that may approach two inches – by no means a storm, but still capable of snarling traffic overnight into Sunday morning. The rest of Sunday should be dry with periods of sunshine and temperatures in the 20s.
