A courtroom brawl between families and friends of both the victims and defendant in a homicide incident took a half hour to put down completely on Friday morning.
The crowd was gathered for the sentencing of Parise Larry Jr. who was convicted in October of first-degree intentional homicide and other charges related to a May 7th, 2023 shooting at Maplewood Commons in the City of Fond du Lac. The fight began in the courtroom gallery as a verbal tussle, but took only seconds to become a physical fight between numerous individuals. The Judge immediately adjourned and moved staff and attorneys to a safe location as Sheriff’s deputies and Fond du Lac Police officers worked to separate and remove the initial crowd while a second fight broke out between those still in the courtroom.
The disturbances interrupted procedures in three other courtrooms, continued in the parking lot outside and eventually took some 25 officers a half hour and several arrests to finally bring to an end.
