Two institutions of higher education that share similar names also share a title today: Economic Driver of the Year. The title is an annual award of the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation which usually selects only one winner for the prestigious title.
During Thursday night’s annual awards celebration, Lakeland and Lakeshore were both cited for continuously making a significant impact on Sheboygan County’s economy.
Lakeland University President Beth Borgen said that the award reflects the faculty and staff’s hard work and dedication navigating an always-changing environment, partnering with businesses and organizations to keep the region moving forward.
Lakeshore College in Cleveland is part of the Wisconsin Technical College System, and as such is constantly developing and adjusting programs that meet the demands for highly-trained workers in the area’s manufacturing and service industries.
