A meeting is scheduled for Wednesday during which it’s expected that a contract to develop plans for Sheboygan’s marina will be approved.
The Committee of the Whole will convene at 5:15 PM on Wednesday in the Council Chambers at City Hall to hear a review of the financial plan by City Administrator Casey Bradley, followed by a presentation by Edgewater Resources regarding the proposed scope of the design project for the Harbor Centre Marina.
The total sum given in the document under consideration is $3.29 million and is split into four phases: The Schematic Design; Design Development; Construction Documents, Bidding and Contracts; and finally the Construction Administration and Closeout.
Edgewater Resources has designed facilities at Midwest facilities such as the Navy Pier Marina in Chicago, at Michigan City, Indiana, and also as far away as Belize in the south Caribbean.
Following the presentation, it’s expected that the Committee will authorize entering into the contract to go forward. The concept was recommended for approval by the Public Works Committee by a 4-1 vote on October 13, with the only dissenting vote by District 5 Alder Susie Boorse.
