City leaders will be appealing a decision in Sheboygan County Circuit Court that found in favor of Sheboygan Police Lieutenant William Adams. The ruling came after he was suspended from the force and then appealed that move earlier this year.
Along with winning his appeal, Adams claimed that Wisconsin State Statutes stipulate his reinstatement with back pay, and the Court agreed. A special meeting of the Board of Police and Fire Commissioners met on October 16th and Commissioners voted to appeal that decision, and asked the Common Council to approve the request with retention of legal counsel to prosecute it.
On Monday night, the Common Council, after meeting in closed session on the matter, voted to proceed as directed by the Commissioners.
