Hot and humid conditions will dominate our weather today and a heat advisory is in effect until 8 PM. This follows a steamy Sunday where the Sheboygan area hit a high of 87 degrees, with only minor cooling thanks to the mid-60 degree waters of Lake Michigan. Today will be similar, plus a few degrees warmer, and for those looking for a cool dip, the good news is an absence of any beach hazard advisories with waves of only around 1 foot expected.
A complex of thunderstorms is expected, but not until late this evening. Given their later arrival it’s likely – but not guaranteed – that any strong storms might weaken by the time they arrive. Some of the strongest storms might produce damaging wind gusts, especially over south-central Wisconsin. With low confidence, though, forecasters are advising to keep up with the forecasts.
The chance of storms will linger on Tuesday and with highs limited to the mid 80s, we should avoid a heat advisory. However, the humidity is expected to remain tropical until Wednesday night.
