A 39-year-old Fond du Lac County man is in critical condition after an alleged attack by his renter. Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt said they received a 9-1-1 call on Tuesday afternoon from someone stating that he and his landlord were in a fight, and that the landlord was having trouble breathing.
Deputies responded to the address in the Town of Auburn, which lies between Dundee and Campbellsport, and located the victim with significant and life-threatening injuries. He was initially transported to Froedtert West Bend Hospital, and subsequently to Froedtert, Milwaukee where he has significant head and brain injuries and is currently medically sedated.
Sheriff’s Deputies located and took into custody a 39-year-old male who resided at that address, and charges are under development by the DA’s office. Currently, a 1st Degree Attempted Homicide charge is being filed, with additional charges possibly to come.
No other information will be released until a criminal complaint is filed with the courts.
