The next round in a set of snow events is in line to put another 4-5” of snow down across Sheboygan County according to forecasts from the National Weather Service. This should begin at around 6 p.m. Friday in what is described as a burst of brief, intense snowfall that is likely to impact the evening commute. Lasting for 2 to 3 hours, snowfall rates could reach 1” per hour until around 10 p.m., and then persist as lighter snow into Saturday.
The combination of rapid onset and accumulation present a significant hazard to travel, causing sudden slick surface conditions, reduced visibility, and a likelihood of slide-offs. Accordingly, a Winter Weather Advisory was issued from 6 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday. Accumulations of 4 or 5 inches should be common throughout Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, Washington and Ozaukee Counties.

NWS Graphic
The snowfall continuing on Saturday could put down another 2-1/2 inches before subsiding on Sunday, and with arctic air to follow, those commuting on Monday morning will probably face temperatures in the single digits below zero, and wind chills as low as 22 below.
