What initially appeared to be a storm carrying significant winter safety risk has become a much tamer sort, and any nearby advisories have been eased. The National Weather Service now expects only an inch or two of snow to occur in most of the county, possibly higher to the north, beginning early Saturday morning and wrapping up by tomorrow night. Snow is expected to be rather dry and easy to clear, but still could make roads and walkways slippery.

NWS Graphic
Manitowoc and Calumet Counties, which had been on the lookout for potentially heavy snow, now expect between 3 and 6 inches north of Highway 10 with lesser amounts to the south, and a Winter Weather Advisory was posted from 3-9 p.m. tomorrow. The heaviest snow is likely to fall along the Highway 29 corridor where a max of up to 9 inches is possible.
Looking ahead, Sunday provides quiet and sunny but cold weather, with the colder-than-normal conditions expected to last the entirety of next week.
