The Wisconsin DOT is advising Sheboygan area motorist of several highway maintenance projects that deserve extra attention when traveling roadways this week.
“Clearing and Grubbing” is an operation that removes vegetation from shoulders including matted roots and brush, restoring the shoulder as a safety margin on highways. Such operations will be taking place in several Sheboygan County locations this week.
Wisconsin Highway 67 has two such efforts scheduled, the first from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily through Friday between Shady Lane and Hillcrest Drive on both the north, and southbound lanes. A temporary signal will control traffic. The identical operation had been scheduled to take place two weeks earlier.
Another stretch of 67, this time from South Hills Drive to South Rivers Boulevard on Plymouth’s southwest side, will be treated between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, with a temporary signal also used during repairs.
Maintenance crews will be clearing and grubbing both the north, and southbound lanes of Highway 32 from County Highway I to Van Engen Road, just south of Sheboygan Falls each day Wednesday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. In this case, a flagging crew will control the traffic flow.
Als always, motorists are urged to pay extra attention and slow down in work zones for the protection of motorists and workers alike.
