City of Sheboygan Announces Absentee Voting Schedule at Assisted Living Sites
by Kevin Zimmermann
Residents of assisted living facilities in the City of Sheboygan will have the voting booth coming to them within the next two weeks. The sessions are scheduled for those who won’t be able to make it to their local polling place for the February 18th Primary Election.
Beginning on Tuesday, February 4th and running through Thursday the 6th, special voting deputies appointed by the City will administer absentee voting by request at Sheboygan Progressive Health Services, Shores of Sheboygan North and South, Morningside Health Services, Sheboygan Health Services, Golden Harbor, and Sunny Ridge. Ballots can be requested by any US citizen who’s registered to vote, will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, and who has lived for at least 28 consecutive days before the election in the ward or municipality where they wish to vote.
Observers from both the Democrat and Republican parties may observe the process as long as they qualify according to the rules and have registered with the clerk or board of election commissoners at least a day before the session. Any family members who’d like to be there may also observe.
