The City of Sheboygan now has a new Police Chief.
Kurt Zempel was sworn in as the top officer of Sheboygan’s Police force at Monday’s Common Council meeting, taking over for Christopher Domagalski who completed his 15-year tenure as chief yesterday as well.

After his son pined the Chief’s badge on his father, Zempel thanked the community for its support, saying: “I think it’s a testament to the relationship that we’ve been able to develop with our community, the trust that you place in us to keep it safe, and your interest in being a part of making it the best possible place to live, work, and raise families. I can’t thank you enough for that support.”
Zempel said that it is only such support that has enabled the kind of progress seen since he joined the force almost 22 years ago, noting that, “As a result, the likelihood of anyone becoming a victim in Sheboygan is at historic lows, and we should all be very proud of that, and appreciate what a great and safe community we’ve built in Sheboygan”.
