A cold weather advisory for dangerously frigid conditions has been issued for much of central Wisconsin inland of Lake Michigan, with Sheboygan County escaping the worst expected weather.
Wind chill readings are expected to reach between 20 and 25 degrees below zero in the advisory counties of both Fond du Lac and Washington, along with points westward, as arctic are flows into Wisconsin under clear skies. In Sheboygan County, however, readings are expected to remain just shy of advisory levels. Nonetheless, even those wind chill levels can be dangerous if exposed for any duration.
The coldest Sheboygan wind chills of between 17 and 19 degrees below zero are anticipated between 3 and 8 a.m. on Tuesday, with wind chills likely remaining below zero even in the warmest hours. However conditions should improve on Wednesday with actual temperatures in the low 20s, and chill factors rising to near 10 above.
