Home buyers in Sheboygan County were paying around 14% more for a home last month than they were in November of 2023, an increase that exceeds most of the state of Wisconsin. That’s according to statistics released Thursday morning by the Wisconsin Realtors Association. The same report indicates that statewide, the inventory of available homes remains very tight even as solid demand conditions persist. That mismatch is behind the increase in home prices, with the median statewide increase coming in at 10.8%.
Sheboygan County’s 14.4% rise was the second highest in the Southeast region, with Kenosha County prices soaring by 32.8%. The only county losing in the region was Washington, where the median price declined 5.1%. In the Northeast region, however, Manitowoc County saw a 20.6% increase in the median price compared to 2023, while Fond du Lac County reported a 12-1/2 percent increase, with Calumet County coming in at 6.3%.
Back to Sheboygan County, sales were up 9.8% over the year while inventory rose 10.7%. The average days on the market amounted to just under 2 months at 58 days, compared to 59 a year ago.
