HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital
A St. Nick Eve tradition continues tonight at the hospital that bears his name. HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital traditionally hosts visits with the patron Saint of the hospital on St. Nick eve – that’s tonight, which precedes the feast of St. Nicholas on December 6th.
The scene will be set outside of the hospital located at Superior Avenue and Taylor Drive, Sheboygan, near the Chapel entrance . There, visits with St. Nicholas and live reindeer take place between 4 and 6 p.m. Special events during those hours include a live reading of the Christmas story from scripture from 4:15 until 4:30, while live music from the Catholic North Youth and St. Dominic’s Adult Choirs will be heard from 4:30 until 5:30. Hot cocoa and cookies will be served, and the first 200 children attending receive a goodie bag.
No reservations are needed, and donations are optional-but welcome in the form of new winter hats and mittens for the community. One more reminder – be sure to bring your own hats and mittens to protect against winds and temperatures that will make it feel like about 12 above zero.
