Sandra L. Kuhfuss, 81, of Sheboygan, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024 at Harvest
Home, Grafton.
Sandy was born on January 20, 1943, to the late Edmund and Erma (Schmidt) Bender in
Sheboygan. She graduated from Kiel High School with the Class of 1961.
She was united in marriage to David Kuhfuss on May 11, 1963. Sandy was a member of
Immanuel UCC, Plymouth. She enjoyed quilting, crafting, gardening, baking and playing
dominos. Many of her quilting creations will be treasured by her family.
Sandy was loving, caring and selfless. She was devoted to her family. Sandy loved spending time
with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sandy is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, David Kuhfuss; daughter Deb (Ralph)
Haft, along with their children Josh (Kristi) Haft, who are the parents of Nolan and Lily; Katie
(Garrett) Balbach, who are the parents of Oliver; and Leah Haft. Sons, Jeff (his partner Jim Fisk)
Kuhfuss and Chad (Michelle) Kuhfuss, along with their children Trevor, Jared and Evan. She is
further survived by her sisters Suzi (Marvin) Boedecker and Sharon (her partner Junior Will)
Bender; her brothers, Steve (Rita) Bender, Scott (Sandy) Bender; brothers-in-law Jim Kuhfuss,
Bill Kuhfuss and Ron (Janelle) Kuhfuss; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and
friends.
She is preceded in death by infant son Matthew Kuhfuss; parents Edmund and Erma Bender; in-
laws, Arvin and Aroma Kuhfuss; step-mother-in-law Anita Kuhfuss; and sisters-in-law, Helen
and Sharon Kuhfuss.
A funeral service for Sandy is scheduled on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 3:00pm at Immanuel
UCC, W3694 Co Rd FF, Plymouth, WI 53073, with Rev. Kim Henning officiating. A burial will
take place at Immanuel UCC Cemetery immediately after the funeral service. Family and friends
will gather at the church for visitation on Monday from 1:00pm – 3:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Sandy’s memory to Sharon S.
Richardson Community Hospice or Bookworm Gardens.
