A bracket-style competition sponsored by Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce and The Johnson Financial Group has announced the 2024 Champion of “The Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin” tournament, and the winner is Jolly Good Soda, produced by Krier Foods of Random Lake. The award was conferred upon the Sheboygan County producer at WMC’s annual Business Day event on Thursday in Madison.
Over 130 products were nominated for the contest this year, and initially a collection of Sheboygan County manufacturers were entered by nomination. After last week’s Final-Four were announced, the #13 Seed Jolly Good was pitted against the #16 Seed: Medalcraft Mint Inc., of Green Bay, entered for its Military Medals and Insignia. The other bracket matched the #11 Seed: “Revo”, a fish detector made by Vulture Systems of Menomonee Falls, against the #10 Seed: the X739 Signature Series Lawn Tractor by John Deere of Horicon. In the end, Jolly Good rose to the top, taking home a trophy produced by two other Wisconsin manufacturers, EK Machine and EFCO Finishing Corporation.
Upon receiving the honor, Krier Foods’ Senior Vice President of Business Development, Zach Malin, said that “It’s an honor to be selected as the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin. Jolly Good soda is an iconic Wisconsin brand that has and continues to create memories for families across the state.” He continued, “The employees who help produce Jolly Good every day are extremely proud of the company’s family heritage, Wisconsin ties, and being able to put a smile on our friends, families, and neighbors. Thank you to all of the other iconic Wisconsin brands for participating, and thank you to everybody who voted for jolly Good!”
