The design plans for the future of Sheboygan’s Waterfront and Marina are now up for your review. The new Sheboygan Waterfront & Marina Master Plan, developed over the summer by the Smith Group in part through a week-long series of public meetings and planning sessions, was formally presented on Monday night to the Sheboygan Common Council. The next step in the process is another gathering of public input through an online survey.
The Master Plan explains that while the revitalization of the lakefront and marina has been ongoing for years, the facility has been plagued by revenue shortfalls and high costs of maintaining and repairing the 250 slip marina, and says the key to further progress is an $11 to $13 million reinvestment in that infrastructure.
Beyond that, the study says that unlocking the area’s economic potential, and prioritizing public access and activation, are at the heart of the plan that’s now up for review. You can see the plan through this link, and access the survey here.
