Juana M. Duran “Juanita” Gomez, 38, of Sheboygan, passed away Monday, October 7, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born July 27, 1986, in Yuriria, Mexico, Juana was a daughter of Manuel Duran Espinoza and Guadalupe Gomez Ruiz. She attended area schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 2004, where she was on the cheer leading squad.
Juanita had a strong faith and was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She loved animals, especially her dog, Brownie, and her bird, Paquito. She also loved the Halloween season and watching horror movies. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family, playing outside, coloring with her nieces and nephews,shopping and going out to eat. She will be remembered for her angelic positive attitude and how she could make everyone smile.
She is survived by her mother and father, Guadalupe and Manuel; her brothers, Juan (Desiree) Manuel Duran, Luis Jesus Duran and Arturo Duran, all of Sheboygan; nieces and nephews, Cecilia, Lilyana, Savela, Celestina, Tristano and Vinny; uncles and aunts, Alfredo (Veronica) Duran, Jose (Teresa) Gomez, Guillermina (Jose Luis) Duran, Teresa (Pastor) Espinoza, Zusana Gomez, Rosa Duran, Javier Duran, Juan Duran, Jorge Duran, Miguel Duran, Maricela Duran, Lupe Duran, and Mario Duran; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Manuel Duran Quintino and Maria Espinoza Balcazar; and her maternal grandparents, Salvador Gomez and Maria Ruiz.
A memorial service for Juana will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2024, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1810 N. 13th Street, Sheboygan. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Monday from 12;00 p.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Juanita’s arrangements.
