MILWAKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers are already on the verge of elimination from the playoffs.
The Crew fell to the Mets 8-4 in Game One of their Wild Card series from American Family Field on Tuesday.
Joel Payamps got the loss after giving up three runs while recording two outs in relief. Aaron Ashby came in after and gave up two runs without getting a single out.
William Contreras drove in a pair of runs as Milwaukee trails the best-of-three series 1-0.
Luis Severino secured the victory after striking out three and allowing four runs – three of them earned – over six innings pitched.
Mark Vientos, Jesse Winker and JD Martinez each drove in a pair of runs.
The Brewers will try to stay alive Wednesday night in game two. Pregame coverage on WHBL begins at 6pm.
