MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The New York Mets shut out the Brewers 5-0 from American Family Field to set up a win-or-go-home doubleheader on Monday.
Colin Rea got the loss after giving up five runs on 10 hits. Milwaukee heads into the playoffs as the third seed in the NL and will open the Wild Card round from American Family Field on Tuesday.
Francisco Lindor slugged a solo shot for the Mets while David Peterson earned the win after giving up just one hit over seven scoreless innings.
The Mets will play the Braves in a doubleheader Monday to determine who makes the playoffs as a National League Wild Card team. If either side sweeps, that team plus the Diamondbacks will earn postseason berths. If the sides split, then both New York and Atlanta will claim the Wild Card spots.
