A Sheboygan County organization that helps maintain a safe, livable home for people in need has been given a boost. Rebuilding Together Sheboygan County provides the kind of free repairs needed to ensure that seniors, veterans, those with mobility challenges or on fixed incomes have a warm, safe and dry place to live and which meets any special needs. Last year the nonprofit’s team of sponsors, tradespeople and volunteers made changes to eleven such homes in Sheboygan County through repairs to windows or plumbing, or through installation of ramps and handrails…whatever’s discovered through a 25-point inspection. National statistics show that such repairs make significant differences in safety, quality of life and the ability of people to stay in their homes as they age.
Just as local individuals, businesses and sponsors have joined to support the effort, now the Frankenmuth Insurance Charitable Foundation has stepped up with a $5,000 grant. That organization supports tax-exempt, not-for-profit organizations and governmental units focused on community betterment and basic human needs. That’s exactly the mission that Rebuilding Together Sheboygan County has been on since 1998. You can learn more about that mission, or how you can get involved, through this link.
