A fire on Sunday afternoon drove five persons from their home, but nobody was injured during the incident. Sheboygan Fire Department crews responded shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday to the 1800 block of South 17th Street, arriving within 3 minutes of the call to find a large amount of smoke coming from the second floor of the home.
Those living there had already evacuated the residence, and firefighters were able to safely remove two dogs and two cats. The blaze, which caused an estimated $15,000 worth of damage, was extinguished within five minutes of arrival. The cause of that fire is still under investigation.
