A man driving a stolen vehicle took law enforcement on a 40-mile chase through Washington and Dodge Counties late last week. Events began with the report of a stolen pickup truck from the Town of Wayne, west of Kewaskum shortly after 11 p.m. on Thursday.
Washington County Sheriff’s deputies followed the owner’s GPS tracking and located the stolen F150 in the 2700 block of State Highway 28 where the suspect had attempted another vehicle theft. A pursuit ensued, winding some 40 miles down Interstate 41 through West Bend and into Slinger, continuing down I-41 until tire deflation devices were used to bring the chase to a safe conclusion near I-41 and Dodge County Highway “D”.
The suspect, a 34-year-old man from Manawa, Wisconsin, was jailed under a $15,000 cash bond awaiting his court appearance in Washington County. Besides the charges associated with the chase, he faces additional charges of bail jumping, and is also suspected of multiple vehicle thefts in the Fox Valley.
