SAN FRANCISCO, CA (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers held the San Francisco Giants to five hits during a 3-0 win at Oracle Park on Thursday night.
The game was tied heading into the top of the seventh before Willy Adames scored on a wild pitch. Jackson Chourio hit a two-run home run in the next inning to give Milwaukee some insurance.
Frankie Montas earned his seventh win after striking out eight and allowing just two hits in six innings, while Devin Williams picked up his 11th save.
Milwaukee has a nine-game lead in the NL Central race.
The Giants went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position.
Starting pitcher Hayden Birdsong tossed four strikeouts through five scoreless frames before giving way to the bullpen. Camilo Doval was charged with his second loss after he allowed one run through an inning of relief.
The Brewers now head to Arizona for a weekend series with the Diamondbacks. Game one is Friday night with pregame coverage on WHBL beginning at 8:05.
