The person who assaulted a Manitowoc resident in their home is the subject of a search by police in that city. The Manitowoc Police Department said a person residing in the 1200 block of North 9th Street called 911 at 5:24 a.m. last Saturday morning, reporting that someone entered their residence and physically assaulted them.
Another occupant of the home confronted the suspect who likely suffered an injury to the fingers on his left hand during the altercation. Before police arrived, he fled in a newer-model white SUV similar to a Nissan Rogue, Chevy Trax or Buick Encore, last seen traveling north on North 8th Street past Reed Avenue. The suspect is described as a thinly-built while male, about 5-1/2 feet tall with blond and brown hair with bangs, and was wearing a black hoodie and sweatpants at the time of the assault.
Anyone who can help identify the suspect is asked to either call the Manitowoc Police Department Shift Commander at 920-686-6551 or Detective David McCue at 920-686-6570. Tips are also being accepted through Manitowoc County Crimestoppers at 920-683-4466.
