MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The St. Louis Cardinals took the rubber match of their series against the Milwaukee Brewers with a 3-2 ten-inning win at American Family Field on Wednesday night.
St. Louis scored a pair of runs in the first, but Milwaukee tied the game at two in the bottom of the eighth.
The Cardinals’ Luken Baker drove in the go-ahead run with an RBI single in the tenth, and Ryan Fernandez shut the door to record his second save.
Andrew Kittredge earned his third win in relief as St. Louis has won four of five.
Joel Payamps got the loss in relief after giving up the go-ahead run in the 10th.
Eric Haase slugged a solo shot and Joey Ortiz also drove in a run.
Colin Rea gave up a pair of runs in his four-inning start as Milwaukee lost the three-game series but remains first in the NL Central at 81-59.
The Brewers have Thursday off, then welcome the Colorado Rockies to American Family Field for a three-game weekend series beginning Friday night.
