Janet L. Schueler, 86, of Howards Grove, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 27, 2024,
surrounded by her family.
Janet was born on June 1, 1938, to the late Carl and Marie (Zuengler) Harms in Sheboygan, WI.
She graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School, Class of 1956. Later she graduated from
Lakeshore Technical Institute in 1979 and became a licensed practical nurse. Janet enjoyed being
an LPN, especially her years in the nursery at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital. She retired from
Sheboygan Memorial Hospital in 2003.
On April 18, 1959, Janet was united in marriage to Orlin Schueler. Together they raised four
children. She was devoted to her family. Janet enjoyed cooking for family gatherings; especially
preparing the food with her grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, she
attended their sporting and music events whenever she could. Janet also loved spending time
with her extended relatives at special family gatherings. She was an avid Brewer fan. Janet will
be dearly missed.
Janet is survived by her children, Susie (Randy) Kleinhans, Tim (Wendy) Schueler, Daniel
“Oscar” (Tracey) Schueler and Mark (Sue) Schueler; grandchildren, Nathan Kleinhans, Anna
Kleinhans, Brynn (Eric) Bergman, Trevor (Deva) Schueler, Alicia Schueler, Derek (girlfriend
Izzy) Schueler, Ellie (boyfriend Jackson) Schueler, Macey Schueler, Megan (boyfriend Miles)
Schueler and Katie Schueler; one great-grandson Everett Bergman; sisters, Carol Horness, Judy
(Fritz) Westermeyer, Molly (Bill) Weiler and Sandra Harms; one brother Carl (Donna) Harms;
sisters-in-law Helen Harms and JoAnn Harms; special cousins; many nieces and nephews; and
other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Orlin Schueler; parents, Carl and Marie Harms;
parents-in-law Otto and Hulda Schueler; one sister Mary Harms; two brothers, Alan Harms and
John Harms; one brother-in-law Ralph Horness; in-laws Wilmer and Doris Schueler, Niles and
Beatrice Schueler; niece Ann Westermeyer; nephew Henry Westermeyer; two great-nieces
Jordin Koenig and Brianna Westermeyer.
A memorial service for Janet will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 3:00 pm at St.
Mark’s UCC, W1307 Orchard Road, Cleveland, WI 53015, with Rev. Dr. Patrick Schultz
officiating. A public visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until the time of the service. Janet will
be laid to rest at St. John’s UCC – Schwarzwald Cemetery.
Janet’s family would like to give a special thank you to all the healthcare workers who cared for
her through the years, especially Dr. Remington, Dr. DeTrana, Davita Dialysis, The Shores of
Sheboygan and the entire staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Janet’s name to Sharon S. Richardson
Community Hospice and St. Mark’s UCC.
