MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – Aaron Civale led the Milwaukee Brewers to a 6-0 shutout win over the San Francisco Giants in their series finale at American Family Field on Thursday afternoon.
Civale earned the win and moved to 5-8 on the season after striking out seven and allowing two hits through seven scoreless frames. Aaron Ashby then closed it out with two hitless innings.
Garrett Mitchell hit his third homer of the season on a solo shot in the third inning.
The Brewers have won back-to-back games and sit atop the NL Central at 77-56.
The Giants managed just two hits as a team.
Hayden Birdsong was charged with the loss. The Giants have lost three of four and sit fourth in the NL West at 67-68.
The Brewers now head to Cincinnati for a weekend series against the Reds beginning with a doubleheader on Friday. Game one can be heard on WHBL with pregame coverage starting at 11:05am.
Game two of the doubleheader will move over to 106.5 The Buzz and will start with pregame at 5:05.
WHBL will be carrying the Wisconsin Badger season opener on Friday night.
