An initial round of thunderstorms that produced vigorous rain, but spared Sheboygan County from much of the damage incurred upon other counties, and also defused – in a sense – the threat of more severe weather to come. As a bonus, the hot airmass was replaced by cooling downflows from the thunderstorms, removing concerns of excess heat.
Storm reports received by the National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan indicated that most of Washington County was experiencing downed trees and power lines as of 11:53 a.m. Trees and power lines were also downed through southern and central Ozaukee County as those storms moved east.
The midday storms had disrupted weather patterns that had threatened to cause more disruptions in the late afternoon and evening, and by 2 p.m. forecasters surmised that only very minimal threat of severe weather remained.
After a mostly cloudy night with patchy fog, Wednesday is forecast to be mostly cloudy with highs in the mid 70s.
