George E. Karshner, 91, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2024 at St.
Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan.
He was born December 23, 1932 in Circleville, Ohio to the late Leslie and Faye (Stewart)
Karshner. George served in the US Army during the Korean War.
On September 8, 1956, he was united in marriage to Beverly Moll, she preceded him in death in
February of this year. George worked at Sheboygan Paint Company for 47 years before his
retirement in 2005. He was an avid hunter and fisherman into his eighties. His love for outdoors
continued with gardening and sleeping in the sun. George was a member of the Sheboygan Rifle
& Pistol Club, Inc.
He is survived by his children, Kathy (Tom) Thielke, Kristy (Jerry) Ashmore, and Kevin (Heidi)
Karshner; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Sanders and
Marian Ensing.
George was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years Bev Karshner; his parents; brothers, Clyde,
Elmer, Durwin and Marvin.
A funeral service for George will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Greenlawn
Memorial Park in the chapel, 6706 Superior Ave., Kohler, with Rev. Judine Duerwaechter
officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Per request of George, camouflage attire is requested.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sheboygan Rifle & Pistol Club, Inc., St. John's
UCC, Sheboygan, or Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in George's name.
