OAKLAND, CA (WHBL) – The A’s avoided the sweep against the Milwaukee Brewers, earning a 4-3 victory in the finale from Oakland on Sunday afternoon.
Frankie Montas got the loss after giving up all four runs over six innings.
Gary Sanchez blasted a two run homer and Willy Adames also went deep for Milwaukee, which has lost three-of-five games.
The Brew Crew are still first in the NL Central at 75-55.
Joey Estes earned the win for Oakland after giving up two runs on two hits over five-and-two-thirds innings. Shea Langeliers was one of four different players to drive in a run during the fourth inning for the A’s.
The Brewers have Monday off, then will host the San Francisco Giants for a three-game series beginning Tuesday night at American Family Field.
