ST. LOUIS, MO (WHBL) – The St. Louis Cardinals sealed a series win over the Milwaukee Brewers with a 3-0 victory from Busch Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
Nick Mears got the loss after giving up all three runs in relief.
William Contreras went one-for-three with a walk as Milwaukee has lost two straight, but is still first in the NL Central at 73-54.
For the Cardinals, Willson Contreras, Brendan Donovan and Nolan Arenado all drove in runs during the seventh inning.
Andrew Kitteredge earned the win in relief while Miles Mikolas gave up two hits over his six-inning start.
The Brewers will now head to Oakland for a three-game weekend series against the A’s.
Game one is Friday night with pregame beginning at 8:05 on WHBL.
