MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers swept the Cleveland Guardians over the weekend, wrapping up the series with a 2-0 victory in the finale from American Family Field on Sunday afternoon.
Colin Rea took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and ended up allowing just two hits over seven scoreless innings. The bullpen didn’t allow a hit over final two frames.
Milwaukee has won five straight to remain first in the NL Central at 72-52. The Crew now leads the division by 11 games.
Ben Lively got the loss after giving up both Brewer runs over six innings. Steven Kwan had one of the Guardian’s two hits as Cleveland has lost three straight but remains first in the AL Central at 72-62.
The Brewers have Monday off before beginning a six game road trip. First up will be a trip to St. Louis to face the Cardinals in a three-game series beginning Tuesday night.
